Helping people in Skagit Valley for over 45 years

Navigating an on-the-job injury can be confusing and difficult.  We are here to help.

You have been hurt at work and all you want to do is get back to work. After the injury, you have many people in your life and unfamiliar competing interests. There are doctors, physical therapists, claims managers, vocational counselors, and possibly an employer’s representative, it is difficult to know how each of these parties can affect your care and claim.

There are answers. We have spent nearly our entire professional careers assisting people just like you navigate the complexities and competing interests involved in a worker compensation claim. Your employer likely has someone working to help them. It is free to find out if they do and what this may mean to your claim, just ask.

Some of your concerns may be:

Claim Allowance

You have been hurt on the job and worker compensation is a no-fault insurance system. Is your employer or the Department trying to deny your legitimate claim? We can answer any questions you may have about this. There are two kinds of worker compensation injuries; one caused by a specific incident, and one caused by exposure over time. We can answer your questions about these.

Medical Treatment

Your doctor may ask for a certain kind of treatment or a certain level of treatment and the Department, or your employer, who sent you to a chosen doctor, has created a conflict. We can help resolve that conflict.

Time Loss Benefits

You are entitled to wage replacement benefits. We are here to answer how those are calculated and whether or not you are getting the right amount for the right period of time. We handle these every day.

Vocational Services/Retraining

If you are not able to return to your job or any other job, you have the right to be retrained. Has a vocational counselor suggested that you would be perfect for a ‘receptionist’ or ‘office job’ and do you have questions about that? We can answer those.

Claim Closure

Every work compensation claim closes one of two ways. We can answer how that happens and make sure it is closed properly and with the input from your doctor.

IME’s

These create many questions and legitimate concerns. The law allows the Department or self-insured to pay doctors or facilities that hire doctors to examine you at their request. These doctors are hired to examine you, not treat you, and you are told to show up or your benefits can stop. You may not know what to do, we do.
